Fotocom BK-45 gimbal tripod head
Description
A gimbal-type tripod head designed on the basis of the Wimberley WH-200, built for heavy telephoto lenses in wildlife, bird and sports photography. By rotating the lens around its centre of gravity, the BK-45 lets you track fast-moving subjects with almost zero resistance, far more steadily and with more control than a traditional ball head with heavy lenses.
A 360° panning base with a graduated scale and a built-in compass provides precise panoramic positioning. A vertical balance adjustment lever with its own graduated rail lets you set the centre of gravity precisely up or down and then lock it in place. A tilt knob provides independent 360° rotation of the quick-release clamp for upward-facing or angled shots. All adjustments use intuitive counter-clockwise to release / clockwise to lock controls.
The Arca Swiss compatible quick-release plate allows fast lens changes, and the whole head is easy to assemble and disassemble for packing in the included carry bag.
