We use only pH neutral materials and professional technologies that ensure protection and preservation of your images for the next 100+ years. Every material is certified to archival standards.

To achieve excellent, professionally finished images, it's important to understand each stage of the finishing process. Below we offer a clear step-by-step structure that we use in every project to help you choose the most suitable solutions:

  1. Print type selection – for example, classic, inkjet or Fine Art printing.
  2. Mounting selection – foam board, Komatex, Dibond or Dibond with acrylic.
  3. Hanging method – from sturdy hooks to backing frames for image stability.
  4. Image protection – lamination, coating or glazing.
  5. Frame selection – custom aluminum frames or ready-made frames.
  6. Matting selection – for visual finishing and image protection.

1. Photo Printing – Choose Your Preferred Print Type

Before placing an order, it is important to choose the most suitable photo print type. We offer four quality solutions for different image styles and applications:

  • Classic Photo Print – sizes up to 30x45 cm on Kodak or Fujifilm color silver paper. Excellent for portraits. If intended for framing behind glass, we recommend choosing matte surface. Photos are relatively resistant to scratches.
  • Inkjet Photo Print – material maximum width up to 1.62m, length virtually unlimited. Various materials adaptable to different image subjects. Especially suitable for black and white photos. For longevity, we recommend lamination.
  • Fine Art Inkjet Print – same inkjet printing using higher-grade materials (various textures and thickness). We recommend coating to preserve both quality and appearance. Premium service.
  • Canvas Print – Inkjet printing on quality canvas specially prepared for this process, stretched on a wooden frame. Includes coating for protection against mechanical damage.

2. Mounting Selection – For Stability and Image Protection

Mounting for photography is an essential element that prevents it from warping, ensures durability and suitability for framing or display without frames. We offer several mounting materials according to different budgets and applications:

  • Foam Board with Double-sided Aluminum Coating (5mm) – the most popular choice due to affordable price and shape stability. The aluminum layers make this material considerably stiffer than regular foam board. Excellent for short-term exhibitions or photo framing.
  • Komatex (4mm PVC) – stiffer and more durable than foam board. Since it is weather-resistant, it is especially suitable for photos intended for outdoor display. We recommend using it with lamination to ensure weather protection.
  • Aluminum composite panel known as Dibond – the most durable and stable mounting material. Made from polyethylene core embedded between two 0.3mm aluminum sheets. Suitable for both large-format prints and long-term display. Premium solution.
  • Dibond with 3mm Acrylic Coating – the image with special transparent adhesive film designed for this purpose is laminated between a Dibond base and a transparent acrylic sheet. Results in high-quality image with a dimensional effect. An elegant and exclusive solution.

3. Image Hanging – Safe Image Attachment

Hanging of images must be not only convenient but also safe. For larger prints (over 40×60 cm), additional measures are also desirable to prevent mounting deformation. For this purpose, we use various hanging methods and backing frames that ensure both durability and shape stability:

  • Adhesive Hooks for Hanging – the simplest and most affordable solution, yet it doesn't solve shape stability problems for larger image sizes.
  • Backing Frame of two Aluminum-U profiles – (15x15mm or 20x20mm depending on image size) – recommended for images exceeding 40×60 cm. Such construction prevents warping and allows safe wall hanging. The profiles are glued to the back of the image, also serving as a spacer and a hanger.
  • Full Aluminum U-profile Backing Frame – profile (15x15mm or 20x20mm depending on image size) that encompasses the entire back of the image at a distance of 5–10 cm from the edges. Such a backing frame provides maximum rigidity and shape stability even for very large images. Used both for attachment and as a natural distance creator from the wall, similar to the so-called floating frame.

Hooks are suitable for smaller and lighter mountings (e.g., foam board). Backing frames are most often used with Dibond or Dibond with acrylic to ensure excellent stability.

4. Protection Selection – Protect Your Photography

To make photos resistant to scratches, moisture and time effects, they need to be protected. We offer several professional protection solutions for both visual quality and longevity:

  • Lamination – the most commonly used solution. Available in both matte and glossy coating. Protects from scratches and UV radiation, also strengthens image surface. Affordable and effective protection for everyday photos.
  • Coating – especially suitable for Fine Art inkjet photo prints as it preserves the natural texture of the paper. Slightly lower protection than in the case of lamination, yet aesthetically highlights fine textures and the character of the material.
  • Glazing with Matte Glass – 2mm glass that significantly reduces reflections. A good choice if you want to view the image in any lighting, however, slightly reduces image clarity and detail.
  • Glazing with Glossy Glass – 2mm clear glass that provides complete image sharpness. Excellent for contrasting and vibrant images, but note that there are reflections in lighting.
  • Art Glass Anti-Reflective Glass – highest-grade solution with 98% light transmission and anti-reflective coating. Ideally suited for artworks displayed in galleries or showcases. The only drawback – a higher price.

Glazing is only possible with framing, as the frame holds the glass in place. For the glass not to touch the image, we also recommend using matting, which provides a slight distance and visual depth.

5. Frame Selection. Framing – Custom Frames for Your Image

We offer professional image framing using high-quality aluminum frame profiles. In total, more than 100 different profiles are available – in various thicknesses, styles and color tones. At least 30 to 40 most popular variations are always available on-site.

Both budget-friendly and premium class aluminum frame profiles are available. All the frames are modular in structure – they can be reused.

For an ideal result, we recommend combining framing with matting and glazing. If you choose matting, the size of the frame and glass is calculated according to the outer dimensions of the matting.

6. Matting Selection – Elegance and Image Protection

Matting is a decorative cardboard frame placed between the photo and glass. Not only does it highlight the image visually but it also provides the necessary distance so that the glass does not touch the image surface. This is essential as direct contact can cause sticking, moisture accumulation and unwanted optical effects.

Our assortment includes more than 100 different matting types in various colors, textures and thicknesses. All matting is cut with beveled edge, which enhances the visual depth of the image. Experienced staff will help to individually adapt the matting to the specific artwork or photography.

When choosing matting, the size of the frame and the glass is determined by the outer dimensions of the matting. To ensure maximum protection and stability, we also recommend glazing the photo – glass helps to hold the matting in its place. Still, glazing is not mandatory.

If you do not want to delve into various choices and would rather trust professionals to decide, we will ask you all the necessary questions and definitely offer the most suitable solution. Call or write us an email.

If you choose matting, we recommend that you consider glazing as well. We offer two regular types of glass - matte and glossy; also, there is anti-reflective Art glass.

Frequently Asked Questions

pH neutral materials are one of the fundamental principles of archival quality and museum standards. Acidic materials (pH <7) degrade paper over time - it becomes brittle and yellows. Using pH neutral materials prevents this degradation, keeping photos unchanged for 100+ years. We use only certified pH neutral materials for all finishing processes.

Lamination involves applying a special few-micron thin pH neutral adhesive film to the image. Coating is a special aerosol (Hahnemühle Protective Spray) sprayed onto the image. Lamination provides better protection against mechanical damage, while coating better preserves the image's natural texture and is especially suitable for Fine Art materials.

Foam board with aluminum layer is the most cost-effective choice if budget is important. Dibond composite panel is the highest quality solution - it's significantly more durable, rigid, doesn't deform and is suitable for large sizes. We recommend Dibond for professional projects, exhibitions and when you want maximum durability.

Matting has both functional and visual importance. Functionally: prevents photo from touching glass, reduces condensation possibility, secures photo print in frame. Visually: creates focus zone around image, gives it depth and elegance. We offer more than 100 different matting types - various colors, textures and thicknesses. Our staff will help choose the most suitable for your specific image.

Glossy glass is perfectly clear and reflects all photo qualities, but reflects light from lamps. Matte glass reduces these reflections but slightly 'takes away' from image sharpness. ART anti-reflective glass optically performs like glossy (98% light transmission) but virtually doesn't reflect light - ideal solution for galleries and museums.

We recommend backing frames for images larger than 40x60cm, as they otherwise start warping and deforming. Hooks are suitable for smaller and lighter images on foam board mounting. Backing frames are also used as professional hanging system - they provide stability and create slight distance from wall, creating 'floating' image effect.

The price calculator for printing, glazing, coating, lamination and mounting is 100% accurate. For framing and matting it provides approximate prices, as there are more than 100 different frame profiles and more than 100 different matting types with very different prices. Final, precise price will be determined after specific material selection.

Standard turnaround time is 1-3 business days. This includes all selected finishing stages: print preparation, lamination or coating, mounting, matting, framing, glazing and backing frame installation. We can offer faster turnaround for urgent orders.

Yes, Nielsen frames are modular and completely reusable. They consist of separate aluminum profiles connected with corner connectors. If you want to change image size or profile color, existing frames can be disassembled and used to create new sizes. This system allows flexible adaptation to changing needs and is economically beneficial long-term.

The most important principle in frame selection is not to compete with the image. Classic solution is neutral colors - white, black, gray, natural aluminum. Darker frames suit light images, lighter ones suit dark images. Profile should be proportional to image size - narrow profiles for small images, wider for large ones. Our staff will gladly help choose the most suitable option from 100+ available profiles.

Yes, our service is completely comprehensive. You can deliver digital files and receive ready, wall-hangable artwork. Process includes: file preparation, print selection, lamination/coating, mounting, matting, framing, glazing and backing frame installation. Free consultation helps choose optimal solution for each specific project.
