Quick Release Plates (QR)

Quick release plates (QR) screw onto a camera or lens foot so it can be dropped quickly into the clamp of a tripod head. This category includes Arca-Swiss type plates, L-brackets, panorama plates and camera-specific plates from Fotocom, Leofoto, Sirui and Ulanzi.

When choosing, make sure the plate matches your head's clamp system and pick a length that suits your gear, with Arca-Swiss plates available from 50 mm to 200 mm. An L-bracket lets you switch quickly to portrait orientation, while plates with an anti-twist stop keep the camera from rotating.
