Neutral Density (ND) Filters

Neutral density (ND) filters reduce the amount of light entering the lens without changing image colours. This category offers fixed-strength ND filters such as ND8 and ND1000 (10 stops) as well as variable ND filters from Cokin, K&F Concept, Marumi, Walimex and Irix.

An ND filter lets you use longer exposures or wider apertures in bright daylight: blur water and clouds in landscapes or film with the correct shutter speed. For long exposures pick a strong filter such as ND1000; for video a variable ND is more flexible. Match the filter size to your lens thread, for example 52, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77, 82 or 95 mm.
