Frequently Asked Questions
We develop all popular black and white film formats:
- 135 (35mm) - standard photo films
- 120 and 127 - medium format films
- 110 - retro mini size films
- 4x5 inch sheets - sheet format films for professional photography
We use Kodak X-tol chemistry for all formats and ensure equally high quality.
Push processing: Extended development time, which allows exposing film at a higher sensitivity (e.g., exposing ISO 400 film as ISO 1600). Result - higher sensitivity but more pronounced grain structure and increased contrast.
Pull processing: Shortened development time, which allows exposing film at a lower sensitivity (e.g., exposing ISO 400 film as ISO 100). Result - finer grain structure and reduced contrast.
Push/Pull processing costs an additional €2.50 regardless of the number of stops.
The standard turnaround time is 1-3 business days. This may vary depending on:
- Order volume
- Selected process (manual/automatic)
- Need for additional processing (fog reduction)
- Seasonal workload
- We process B&W films on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the scans are sent on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Automatic process (Adel equipment): Standard development with consistently high quality. Suitable for most films.
Manual process (Jobo equipment): Individual approach to each film with precise temperature control. Mandatory for 4x5 inch sheets and recommended for:
- Old films with fog reduction
- Damaged or water-damaged films
- Special creative projects
The manual process costs an additional €2.00 (for 135/120 formats).
For old films (especially before 2000) we recommend:
- Fog reduction - removes "milky" appearance and improves contrast
- Manual process - more precise control
- Push +1 stop for every 10 years (compensates for sensitivity loss)
- Extended washing - for longevity
Fog reduction is available only in manual process for an additional €2.00.
We offer convenient packages with development and scanning:
- Standard package (€7.90) - 135 film only, standard scanning + index print
- High quality package (€8.90) - 135/120 films, high quality scanning + index print
