Our E6 Services
Development Methods
- Adel Automatic - precise temperature control ±0.1°C, consistent results
- Jobo Manual Development - an individual approach to each film, ideal for valuable projects
Supported Formats
- 135 (35mm) - standard slide films
- 120 - medium format slides
- 4x5 inch sheets - sheet format for maximum detail
Push Processing
E6 films are very sensitive to exposure. The Push process allows compensating for insufficient light by extending the development time.
- Higher effective sensitivity
- Increased contrast
- Color shift (warm tones)
- Up to +2 EV (rarely +3 EV)
Pull Processing
The Pull process allows compensating for overexposure by shortening the development time.
- Lower effective sensitivity
- Smoother transitions
- Reduced contrast
- Up to -1 EV
Included Water Wash
Every developed film automatically receives professional water wash:
- Prevents chemical residues
- Extends color stability
- Improves archival properties
- Maximum longevity
Development of Water-Damaged/Deteriorated Films
Specialized processing for problematic films:
- Jobo manual process only
- Special attention to each film
- Maximum salvage possibility
- Color stabilization

Professional Slide Scanning
We offer the slide scanning of the highest quality with professional equipment:
Get more information about slide scanning, equipment, resolutions and various film formats. We use professional Noritsu, Imacon, Konica and Nikon scanners with special slide adapters that provide excellent image quality with precise color reproduction and maximum detail. Slide scanning requires a special approach compared to negatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
E6 is the standard color slide (transparency) film development process. It is designed for all slide films, for example:
- Kodak Ektachrome (E100, E200, E320T)
- Fujifilm Fujichrome (Provia 100F, Velvia 50/100, Astia 100F)
- Agfa CT Precisa
- All other E6 process films
E6 films produce a positive image that can be viewed directly or projected.
The E6 process is significantly more complex than C41:
- More precise temperature control (±0.1°C)
- More development steps (6 main stages)
- Significantly smaller exposure tolerance (±1/3 stop)
- Color balance is critical
- Process takes longer time
BFS is the only place in the Baltics offering this specialized service.
We develop E6 films once per week, usually on Fridays. This is related to:
- Special requirements regarding E6 chemistry
- Need for sufficient film volume
- Process complexity and time consumption
The turnaround time is 3-5 business days. For urgent cases, please contact us for individual solutions.
Yes, Push/Pull processing is available for E6 films, but with limitations:
- Push: possible up to +2 EV (rarely +3 EV)
- Pull: possible up to -1 EV
- A color shift is unavoidable
- The contrast changes considerably
E6 films are much more sensitive to exposure errors than C41, so Push/Pull is mainly used for creative purposes.
Automatic development (Adel): Precise temperature control ±0.1°C, consistent results, faster processing. Ideal for standard films.
Manual development (Jobo): An individual approach to each film, ability to adjust the process, special attention to valuable projects, better control over results.
4x5 inch sheets are always developed manually.
We develop all popular E6 film formats:
- 135 (35mm) - standard photo films and professional films
- 120 - medium format films (6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, 6x9, 6x12)
- 4x5" (9x12cm) - large format sheet films with manual process
We do not develop: 110 small films (too rarely requested), Super 8 cinema films (no appropriate equipment).
No, the base price €7.90 (135/120) or €4.90 (4x5) is for development only. We offer packages:
- Standard package (135): - development + scanning + index print
- High quality package: - development + HQ scanning + index print
- Maximum quality package: - development + MAX scanning + index print
For detailed information about slide scanning see our scanning section.
E6 development costs more than C41 for the following reasons:
- E6 chemistry is 3-4 times more expensive
- The process is more complex and takes approximately 2x more time
- More precise control and experience is required
- Lower demand = lower efficiency
- Specialized equipment and maintenance
However, the result is unique - perfect color reproduction and contrast that is very difficult to achieve with other processes.
E6 films are very sensitive to storage conditions:
- Development of old films: possible but with a color shift
- Water-damaged films: rarely salvageable but we try
- Heat-exposed films: usually with significant color degradation
We always warn customers about the possible results before development. Additional charge for problem cases: +€2.00.
The developed E6 films are:
- Carefully dried in a special dust-free environment
- On request - placed in transparent sleeves
- Stored in temperature-controlled environment
Films can be collected at our store or delivered. Store the slides in a dark, cool place (ideally, a refrigerator) for optimal color preservation.
