The SmallRig 4978 cage for Canon EOS R5 Mark II is carefully designed to provide comprehensive protection and a wide range of expansion interfaces for your camera. The cage features a secure locking mechanism with a 1/4" 20 screw at the bottom and two side blocks, as well as integrated silicone pads to prevent scratching the camera. Precision-engineered, the cage does not block access to the camera's buttons, ports, dials, flip-out screen, battery compartment or card slot.

The cage is equipped with multiple 1/4" 20 screw holes and 1/4" 20 mounting holes for compatibility with additional accessories such as side handles (ID 2093, 4346), magic arms (ID 3874, 3875), monitor mounts (ID 2904B), Manfrotto base plates (ID 1280, 2458) and L-shaped mounting plates (ID MD4360). The cage also includes a cold shoe mount for attaching microphones and lighting accessories.
The cage has regular strap slots compatible with hand straps (ID 3848, 2456), an innovative strap slot for angled hanging for extra lens protection, and a QD interface compatible with QD quick release shoulder straps (ID 4118).
Built-in Arca Swiss quick release base plate
The Arca Swiss quick release base plate allows direct attachment to Arca-type tripods (ID 4060, 4353) and DJI RS 2 / RSC 2 / RS 3 / RS 3 Pro / RS 4 / RS 4 Pro gimbals, enabling quick transitions between gimbal, handheld and tripod setups. In addition, the cage has a magnetic double-head lock on the bottom for easy assembly and disassembly.
