Freewell Threaded reducer 58/72mm for magnetic filters [STEP UP]

Magnetic step-up Freewell reduction designed for lenses with a diameter of 58 mm. Traditionally screwed on a thread. It allows the use of magnetic filters with a diameter of 72 mm. The thin, lightweight bezel also makes it easier to work with wide-angle lenses, eliminating vignetting. Additional grooves make it easier to wind and unscrew the car, preventing accidental jamming.

Using magnetic filters makes it much easier to work on both the photo and film sets. However, filters of this type belong to the premium segment and are more expensive than their threaded counterparts. Purchasing additional reducers allows you to create a universal combination for many different lenses. The reductions are marked with two values – the first refers to the diameter of the front element in the lens, and the second is the starting value that the user wants to achieve.

The use of additional adapters, reductions or converters naturally increases the distance between the lens and the filter, making the resulting system more susceptible to flare and flare. Electroplated aluminum, which is used to reduce Freewell at the production stage, effectively absorbs light falling on the lens at an angle. The frame fits snugly on the lens and does not compromise image quality.

The reduction can also be used to mount traditional, screw-on filters - there is a second thread on the inside of the ring. However, the internal threading is shallow, so special care must be taken when installing heavier filters or filters with thicker rings (e.g. adjustable VND fader filters).

REMARK! Filter reductions work one way, i.e. they allow you to put a larger filter on top of a smaller lens – not the other way around!

Use

Filter reducers are adapters designed for photographers who often change lenses on the fly, but do not want to take several sets of filters with them. Using magnetic filters also allows you to create a universal set that fits various lenses at a much lower cost than screw-on filters. The precision of workmanship and a relatively thin frame allow them to be used with virtually all lenses equipped with a mounting thread - even wide-angle ones!
