K&F Concept Nano-X Black Mist 1/8 52mm Diffusion Filter

Black Mist 1/8 Nano-X is a 52 mm diameter diffusion filter from K&F Concept. It is made of optical glass, characterized by high light transmission and covered with anti-reflective nano-coatings , thanks to which it provides the highest quality image, free of unwanted light reflections or unsightly coloration.

The purpose of mist filters is to give the image a more organic, analogue character. Modern cameras and video cameras record images of such high quality that for many viewers it is even unnatural. Diffusion filters gently reduce the contrast of the scene and create a soft glow around light sources. The dynamic range of the image increases, and the transitions between light and dark areas become smoother. They also have a slight effect on the exposure, allowing 87% of light to pass through, which - depending on the conditions and the expected effect - should be corrected by exposure time, aperture value or ISO. A slight softening of 1/8 makes the effect very subtle, so filters with such parameters can be used not only on a film set, but also in portrait photography.

The Nano-X series is a photographic accessory with numerous anti-reflective and protective coatings. The filter effectively reduces the formation of light glimmer, increasing the clarity of the shot. The optical glass from which it is made is also characterized by increased resistance to mechanical damage and dirt - there are no scratches or chips on it, and fingerprints or other stains are very easy to remove. There are also no water stains on the surface of the filter. Nano-X are slim filters - their aluminum and electroplated frame is only 3.3 mm wide, which allows you to work with wide-angle lenses without worrying about vignette. Its profiling protects against jamming, making it easy to assemble and disassemble.
