K&F Concept Nano-X Black Mist 1/4 77mm Diffusion Filter

The Black Mist 1/4 K&F Concept Nano-X diffusion filter with a diameter of 77 mm is a product created to obtain a more natural, analog image when using digital cameras or camcorders. Made of high-quality optical glass covered with numerous anti-reflective nano-coatings. It provides excellent image quality, free of glitter, reflections or unsightly coloration.

Diffusion filters allow for attractive and subtle blurring of the image, giving it a more organic, analogue film look. Modern, professional cameras and video camcorders record images so sharp and full of details that for many viewers it can be even artificial. A diffusion filter slightly reduces the contrast of the scene and creates a soft glow around light sources. The dynamic range becomes larger, and the transitions between dark and light parts of the image are smoother. The Black Mist filter also has a slight effect on exposure, allowing 84% of light to pass through, which in some situations needs to be corrected by exposure time, aperture value or ISO change. Softening the image at 1/4 level will compensate for this loss by allowing for a plastic, natural and more analogue effect, which is especially beneficial when working with many sources of harsh, artificial light, e.g. LED panel lamps.

The Nano-X series filters are distinguished from others by numerous nano-coatings that increase their durability, effectively reduce reflections, and protect the lens from water or greasy stains. There are no stains on the surface of the filters, and fingerprints or other impurities are very easy to remove. Hardened optical glass is resistant to scratches, cracks or chips. Nano-X also offers filters with thin rings. Their aluminium and electroplated frame is only 3.3 mm wide and allows you to work with wide-angle lenses without worrying about an unsightly vignette, while its profiling protects against jamming, making it easy to install and disassemble.
