K&F Concept Nano-X Black Mist 1/2 52mm Diffusion Filter

K&F Concept Nano-X Black Mist 1/2 is a diffusion filter made of hardened optical glass. It has numerous anti-reflective and protective nano-coatings , thanks to which the image is free of unwanted glare or unsightly dye, and the lens itself is resistant to accidental damage.

The main function of the diffusion filter is to give the image a more organic character. Modern photo and video equipment captures images of such high quality that for many viewers it may even seem too artificial, sharp and digital. A diffusion filter reduces the contrast of the scene and creates a soft glow around light sources, reminiscent of classic film. The dynamic range becomes larger, and the transitions between dark and light parts of the image are smoother. The Black Mist 1/2 filter also affects the exposure of the scene by letting in 79% of the light, which should be corrected by shutter speed, aperture or higher ISO. Softening the image at the level of 1/2 allows you to obtain a vivid image, especially when working on a film set with many sources of artificial light.
