K&F Concept Nano-X Black Mist 1/1 49mm Diffusion Filter

Black Mist 1/1 diffusion filter with a diameter of 49 mm by K&F Concept Nano-X. Made of hardened optical glass and covered with numerous anti-reflective and protective nano-coatings, thanks to which the image is free of unwanted glitter or unsightly color, and the lens itself becomes resistant to accidental damage.

Using a diffusion filter helps to give your shot a more organic feel. Modern cameras and camcorders record images that may seem too artificial, sharp and digital for many viewers. A diffusion filter reduces the contrast of the scene and creates a soft glow around light sources, reminiscent of classic film. The dynamic range becomes larger, and the transitions between dark and light parts of the image are smoother. The Black Mist 1/1 filter also affects the exposure of the scene by letting in 74% of the light, which should be corrected by shutter speed, aperture or higher ISO. Softening the image at the level of 1/1 allows you to obtain a very vivid and even oneiric image.

A characteristic feature of the Nano-X series filters are numerous coatings, which have a positive effect on the quality of the recorded image. They provide protection against unwanted glare, water or greasy stains. There are no stains on the lenses, and fingerprints or other impurities are very easy to remove. Hardened optical glass is resistant to scratches, cracks or chips. Nano-X also offers filters with thin rings. Their aluminium and electroplated frame is only 3.3 mm wide and allows you to work with wide-angle lenses without worrying about a vignette, while its fine grooves make it easy to wind and protect against jamming.

Use

On the one hand, modern cameras and camcorders have managed to overcome technical limitations that they could not cope with a dozen or so years ago. On the other hand, digital sharpness and detail may seem almost artificial to the audience. K&F Concept's Black Mist filters help to give your shot a distinctive, analogue touch. By softening the contrast and creating a soft glow around the bright spots, they make the scene appear more organic. Filters with high haze intensity, such as Mist 1/1, are particularly suitable for film sets when working with strong, artificial and focused light and in shooting wider shots.
