K&F Concept Nano-X Black Mist 1/4 72mm Diffusion Filter

Black Mist 1/4 The K&F Concept Nano-X is a 72 mm diffusion filter designed for a more natural, analogue image. It is made of high-quality optical glass covered with numerous anti-reflective nano-coatings , which ensures excellent image quality, free of glitches, reflections or unsightly dye.

Mist filters allow for attractive and subtle blurring of the image, giving it a more organic, analogue film look. Cameras and video camcorders available on the market today record images so sharp and full of detail that many viewers may even find them unnatural. A diffusion filter slightly reduces the contrast of the scene and creates a soft glow around light sources. The tonal range of the image becomes larger, and the transitions between dark and light parts – smoother. The Black Mist filter also has a slight effect on exposure, allowing 84% of light to pass through, which in some situations needs to be corrected by increasing the shutter speed, aperture value or ISO change. Softening the image at 1/4 level will compensate for this loss by allowing for a vivid, natural and more analogue image, which is especially beneficial when working with many artificial, harsh light sources, e.g. LED panel lamps.

The Nano-X series filters are distinguished from others by numerous nano-coatings that increase their durability, effectively reduce reflections, and protect the lens from water or greasy stains. There are no stains on the surface of the filters, and fingerprints or other impurities are very easy to remove. Hardened optical glass is resistant to scratches, cracks or chips. Nano-X also offers filters with thin rings. Their aluminum and electroplated frame is only 3.3 mm wide and allows you to work with wide-angle lenses without fear of creating an unsightly vignette, and its profiling protects against jamming.

Mist diffusion filters are photographic accessories created mainly for video creators.
