K&F Concept Nano-X Black Mist 1/1 58mm Diffusion Filter

Black Mist 1/1 K&F Concept Nano-X diffusion filter with a diameter of 58 mm. Made of hardened optical glass, covered with special protective and anti-reflective nano-coatings. It provides a high-quality image without light reflections or unsightly dye.

Diffusion filters make photos and recordings less digital, and more organic and analog. They reduce the contrast of the scene and create a soft glow around light sources. The dynamic range becomes larger and the transitions between dark and light parts of the image are smoother. The Black Mist 1/1 filter also affects the exposure of the scene by letting in 74% of the light, which should be corrected by shutter speed, aperture or higher ISO.

The distinguishing feature of the Nano-X series filters are numerous coatings that have a positive effect on image quality. They provide protection against unwanted glare, water or greasy stains. There are no stains on the lenses, and fingerprints or other impurities are very easy to remove. Hardened optical glass is resistant to scratches, cracks and chips. Nano-X also offers filters with thin rings. Their aluminium and electroplated frame is only 3.3 mm wide and allows you to work with wide-angle lenses without worrying about a vignette, while its fine grooves make it easy to wind and protect against jamming.

Use

Filters with high diffusion intensity, such as Mist 1/1, are often used on film sets with intense and sharp artificial light and for independent, artistic video productions. They are also used in portrait photography, although for narrow, classic shots, including only the face or bust of the model, models with lower diffusion, such as 1/4 or 1/8 – also available in our offer – are more often used.
