Freewell Threaded reducer 62/72mm for magnetic filters [STEP UP]

Magnetic step-up filter reduction by Freewell dedicated to lenses with a diameter of 62 mm. Screwed in a traditional way on the lens thread , it allows the use of magnetic filters with a diameter of 72 mm. Thanks to the light and thin mounting frame, it also allows you to work with wide-angle lenses, significantly reducing the effect of vignetting. Additional grooves make it easy to mount and remove, preventing accidental jamming on the lens.

Magnetic filters are becoming an increasingly popular solution, but they still belong to the premium segment and are more expensive than their counterparts screwed on the lens thread. Purchasing additional reducers allows you to easily create a universal set for many different lenses. The reductions are marked with two values – the first refers to the diameter of the front element in the lens, and the second is the starting value that the user wants to achieve.

The use of additional adapters, reductions or converters naturally increases the distance between the lens and the filter, making the resulting system more susceptible to flare and flare. Electro-blackened aluminum from which the reductions are made already at the production stage Freewell effectively absorbs light falling on the lens at an angle. The ring fits snugly on the lens and does not compromise image quality.

The reduction can also be used to mount traditional, screw-on filters - there is a second thread on the inside of the ring. However, the internal threading is shallow, so special care must be taken when installing heavier filters or filters with thicker rings (e.g. adjustable VND fader filters).

REMARK! Filter reductions work one way, i.e. they allow you to put a larger filter on top of a smaller lens – not the other way around!

Use

Filter reducers are adapters designed for photographers who often change lenses on the fly, but do not want to take several sets of filters with them.
