Lens hoods are lens accessories that block stray side light, reducing flare and loss of contrast in your shots. This category includes screw-on lens hoods and lens-specific hoods from brands such as Canon, Tamron, Fotocom and Kaiser.

A screw-on hood is chosen by the lens filter thread diameter, for example 52 mm, 67 mm or 77 mm. A lens-specific hood is designed for one particular lens model, so check the lens name or the hood code, such as Canon EW73B, before buying. A hood also protects the front element of the lens from knocks and fingerprints.
