Variable ND filters
About this category
Variable ND filters let you adjust light reduction with a single filter simply by rotating its ring. This category offers variable ND filters with 1–5, 2–5 and 6–9 stop ranges, combined VND/PL filters and spare parts from Lee Elements, NiSi, Hoya and SmallRig.
A variable ND is especially handy for video: it lets you keep your preferred shutter speed and a wide aperture as the light changes. A 2–5 stop range suits everyday filming, while 6–9 stops is better for bright sun and long exposures. Choose the size to match your lens thread, for example 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77 or 82 mm.
