Bridging sky and earth

ND graduated filters are half clear and offer a graduated ND grey filter effect on the other half. They let you selectively balance the contrast between sky and landscape - for example, to make clouds stand out in a particularly expressive way. To make working with the filters easier, they can be rotated in the filter holder. This way you can easily adjust the direction of the filter effect to the horizon line.

The transition from one side to the other should not create a visible line in the image. That is why B+W relies on a special coating process during production, which ensures a smooth transition from the clear section to the ND range while preserving image sharpness.
