Foma Film Developer R09 250ml

Foma Fomadon R09 is a fine-grain liquid negative film developer based on the original Agfa Rodinal formula. It has high acutance (edge sharpness/contrast) and is intended for manual processing of all types of black-and-white negative films.

It has a very long shelf life and is used at very high dilutions: 1:20, 1:40, 1:50 and even up to 1:200. A less diluted concentrate produces harder, coarser-grain negatives, while a highly diluted concentrate produces fine-grain negatives with lower contrast.

After opening a bottle of Fomadon R09 and using about half of the concentrate, the remainder will keep for about 5–6 months. After using 1/3 of the bottle, the remainder will keep for 7–8 months, and after using only 1/4, for about one year. These shelf-life periods apply only when the developer is stored in a dark, cool place (10 °C = in a refrigerator).

The shelf life can be extended considerably by decanting the unused part of the developer into another bottle with a minimum of oxygen (use an antioxidant spray). When stored in a refrigerator, the shelf life will be 20–24 months.
