Mitoya INTENSE ZOOM-FOCUS LONG 120cm Parabolic Softbox Holder [Bowens]

..:: 50 MONTHS WARRANTY ::..

Boom lighting crane with Zoom-Focus Long mounting, dedicated to deep parabolic softboxes of the MITOYA INTENSE series and studio lamps with Bowens adapter. Its design allows for an alternative mounting of the light source in the modifier: the lamp is placed not directly in the adapter from the outside of the softbox, but inside its canopy. As a result, the light emitted by it does not fall directly on the front diffuser, but is directed first at the inner reflective coating. This installation allows for evenly diffused lighting, very soft and attractive, which is especially valuable for portrait photography.

The focusing bar is finished with a metal Bowens adapter on one side, and a soft handle on the other, which makes it easy to change its position, and a hook for mounting the counterweight. The headband in the LONG holder consists of two parts – the element with the handle and hook is tightened to the main speaker. The Zoom-Focus mount allows you to precisely adjust the position of the lamp in relation to the edge of the softbox canopy. Thanks to the legible scale placed on the headband, it is possible to extend the lamp to a certain distance and control the surface from which its light is reflected. As a result, by properly changing the position of the burner, you can get more or less focused light, as well as affect its intensity and contrast. The position lock is done with a wide screw. The whole structure is mounted on a lighting tripod with a 16 mm stem. The tripod holder also allows you to tilt the lamp up or down, so that the light source can be mounted at a higher height and at a large angle. The set also includes a two-chamber sandbag, which, when filled and hung on a hook, acts as a weight, allowing you to control the center of gravity and stability of the entire set.

Dedicated to MITOYA INTENSE series modifiers – the installation in the softbox is based on two wide plates that replace part of the original adapter. The LONG version is 120 cm long and is recommended for larger softboxes – 120 cm and 180 cm.

Application

The Boom crane with Zoom-Focus mount is a product created for professional photography studios, but it can also be used when working outdoors or on a film set. It allows not only to mount the lamp at a greater angle, but above all to significantly soften the light emitted by it. In combination with softboxes with a deep, parabolic canopy, such as the MITOYA INTENSE, it allows you to achieve an effect similar to the soft and diffused light obtained when working with large photographic umbrellas. However, replacing the classic umbrella with a softbox affects greater control of light and prevents its loss. The powerful light generated by the torch is first reflected from the inner layer of the canopy before being passed through the front diffuser. It is a perfect solution for subtle portrait, beauty or glamour photography, where we care about favorable, soft and vivid lighting of the posing person.
