Rectangular Softboxes

Rectangular softboxes are the most popular light modifier for studio flashes and LED lights. This category includes square, rectangular and strip softboxes, including quick-assembly and umbrella-style models, from Godox, Quadralite, Phottix, Fomei and Aputure.

A softbox diffuses light and gives soft shadows in portraits and product photography. Larger sizes such as 80x120 cm or 100x200 cm light a full figure, while narrow strip softboxes of 30x120 cm or 35x160 cm suit rim lighting. A honeycomb grid helps control spill. When choosing, check the mount, most often a Bowens bayonet.
