Fill the frame with distant subjects and use telephoto compression to create unusual perspectives in landscape shots. An optional teleconverter provides a focal length of up to 800 mm, which becomes 1200 mm on APS-C.

The conveniently placed focus hold button lets you lock focus momentarily while composing the frame. Other functions useful for telephoto shooting can also be assigned to the focus hold button through the camera menu. The combined focus mode and focus range limiter switch (AF FULL / AF ∞-3m / MF) makes operation faster and simpler, while the zoom lock switch prevents the lens from extending unintentionally when pointed downward.
