The 290 Xtra is a 3-section tripod, the largest tripod in the 290 series, with aluminium leg tubes and a special top casting that improves rigidity, durability and performance. The tension of its aluminium leg locks can be adjusted so that they can be tightened to compensate for ageing and wear, keeping the tripod fully functional throughout its long service life. The main feature of this tripod is the choice of four leg angle positions, which maximises creativity in shooting. Its quick centre column adds flexibility and extends the minimum-to-maximum height range. A new rubber leg heat shield guarantees a comfortable grip and maximum ergonomics. The tripod is supplied with a special shoulder bag for easy carrying at any time.

The new 290 Xtra comes in a kit with the newly updated 804 3-way photo head with a quick release plate, designed specifically for compactness and transport. This patented head provides precise framing and stable support for medium-heavy camera equipment. The main feature of this new head is its retractable levers, which fold away when not in use, making it more compact and easier to carry. Its newly designed ergonomic grips are made of special grip-enhancing rubber. The 3-way head is made of Adapto, a lightweight polymer that keeps the weight low while providing high mechanical strength and stable support.
