K&F Concept ND8 58mm Graduated ND Filter

Half grey soft filter by K&F Concept Nano-X. The optical density of ND8x (ND0.9) is equivalent to reducing the light reaching the camera sensor by 3 f-stops, while the smooth transition between the darkened and neutral areas makes the scene natural and the exposure of the scene correct. The filter diameter is 58 mm.

Nano-X series filters are made of high-quality optical glass, which is polished on both sides and ground many times during the production stage. The lenses, reinforced with numerous anti-reflective and protective nano-coatings, are extremely resistant to cracks and scratches, as well as the formation of water and oil stains. On the other hand, all loose dirt or dust particles can be easily removed from them. Using filters does not disturb the camera's white balance or affect the original colour of the scene, faithfully reproducing natural, saturated colours.

The Nano-X graduated filters are constructed of two rings screwed on top of each other, allowing the user to easily maneuver the darkened area. Aluminium and electro-blackened frames are covered with numerous grooves to facilitate work in difficult weather conditions or with gloves. The relatively small thickness of the filters of 5.3 mm means that they can also be used by users of wide-angle lenses and full-frame cameras. They are also threaded on both sides, which allows the installation of a sun visor or cap.

Use

A graduated ND filter can be an invaluable helper when photographing wide planes, a large part of which is occupied by the sky. These are photographic accessories created mainly for landscape photography. They affect exposure in only half of the frame, allowing you to capture more detail in parts that would be at risk of overexposure. Soft filters are characterized by a smooth transition between the area covered by reduction and neutral, thanks to which the final effect on the photo gives the impression of a natural one. The K&F Concept Nano-X filter with an ND8x value is an excellent solution for almost any situation when we want to balance the overexposed area, e.g. by extracting the structure of clouds. At the same time, it remains color-neutral, thanks to which the colors captured by the camera are saturated and contrasting - just like in real life.
