New-generation 1" sensor

The most advanced 1" sensor
The new 1" sensor delivers professional-level image quality and low-light performance. It uses advanced Simultaneous Dual-Gain Readout, reading each pixel with multiple conversion gains to process shadow and highlight detail at the same time. Unlike traditional multi-frame HDR, this sensor-level approach captures an extended dynamic range in a single exposure, eliminating ghosting and temporal artifacts while reducing power consumption. The result is unmatched clarity and balance, even in fast motion or difficult lighting conditions.

Why size matters
This sensor has a larger surface area, large 1.6 µm native pixels and huge 3.2 µm binned pixels in Quad Bayer mode, allowing it to capture significantly more light. As a result, it produces brighter, sharper images with better dynamic range and can work in difficult, high-contrast lighting conditions. It is not just an upgrade — it is a change in how you capture the world.

Outstanding low-light performance
The sensor also performs in low light, so whether it is a city skyline at dusk or an atmospheric portrait, you will get natural, cinematic images with authentic detail and minimal noise, without relying on heavy software processing.

Richer dynamic range

8K Open Gate

What is Open Gate video?
Using the full potential of the new 1" sensor, Open Gate video captures a taller 4:3 frame at 4K120. With such a high capture resolution, video can be effortlessly cropped in seconds to 16:9 widescreen or vertical 9:16 for Reels and TikTok. You can also choose digital lenses, reframe shots, zoom in and even boost stabilisation — all without losing quality. Photographers, meanwhile, can pull images of up to 33 MP straight from video.

50 MP photos

Full creative control with 50 MP RAW
Capture the highest possible level of detail with 50 MP, 12-bit RAW photos. That is 68 billion colours and maximum editing freedom. Or use Quad Bayer mode and shoot 12 MP RAW with dual gain, which combines neighbouring pixels to produce brighter, cleaner photos — ideal in low light. And all of this in a compact, rugged point-and-shoot style camera built for any environment.

Use different photo modes to get the shot you need

• Single: the basic mode for high-resolution photos up to 50 MP.
• Interval: automatically takes photos at regular intervals, great for hands-free shooting, long activities or documenting progress over time. Just set it and forget it.
• Burst: takes several photos in quick succession — up to 60 frames per second in JPG format or 30 frames per second in RAW format at 50 MP. Burst mode is ideal for fast action and ensures you never miss the right shot.

Whether you are doing voice-overs, conducting an interview or filming dynamic shots on the move, the wireless microphone delivers high-fidelity audio with Super Wideband Speech at 16-bit/32 kHz quality, providing rich, detailed sound. Activate dynamic noise reduction to keep voices in the foreground and background noise out of the way, ensuring that audio is always clear and intelligible for any content.

Audio tuning
Take control with manual audio settings. Fine-tune the automatic gain control, switch on precise limiting and adjust levels to your environment. Prevent overload when the action gets loud and preserve detail in quiet moments, getting clean, consistent, professional-level audio every time.

Built-in helper tools

Hindsight
Records up to 30 seconds of footage before recording starts, so even if you press the shutter button too late, you still get the shot you need.

Scheduled capture and duration capture
With scheduled capture, the GoPro will turn itself on and automatically capture up to 24 hours in advance. Duration capture, meanwhile, lets you easily record video from 15 seconds to 3 hours.

GPS data recording
Overlay telemetry data as a real-time animated graphic to display speed, altitude, G-force and other metrics in the Quik app. Geolocation data can also be used to search for images by location.

In-camera object tracking
Powered by the new GP3 processor, in-camera object tracking uses advanced face and body detection to keep you at the centre of the frame, automatically adjusting the framing in real time as you move. Whether you are vlogging, filming an event or shooting a follow shot, just press record and let the camera do the rest.

On-the-spot footage review
Instantly connect your GoPro to your phone to review recorded footage on the spot. In the Quik app you can also change digital lenses after recording, as well as add filters, effects, transitions and more.
