Caruba ES 62II lens hood, black

The Caruba ES 62II is a black lens hood for the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens. It blocks light entering from the side to reduce lens flare and colour casts.

Light striking the front element at an angle from outside the frame can reflect inside the lens and appear as haze or coloured patches in the image. The hood extends in front of the glass to block this light, while its matte interior absorbs stray light. Its projecting rim helps protect the front element against knocks and the first drops of rain.
