- The name "NOCTICRON" was specially defined by Leica Camera AG for this lens, which achieves an exceptionally fast F1.2 aperture.
- The popular 42.5 mm medium telephoto focal length (equivalent to 85 mm on a 35 mm camera) is ideal for portrait photography with a rich stereoscopic effect.
- Together with the fast aperture, you can use beautiful soft focus for more impressive, creative shots. 9 blades give the aperture a rounded shape, which produces a smooth effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture values. Aperture ring control / metal design. A newly developed stepping motor provides smooth and quiet focusing for both photo and video recording. AF performance is considerably better than phase-difference AF when using fast lenses with a lower F value. When mounted on LUMIX G cameras, the high-precision, high-speed contrast AF system can be used. Nano Surface Coating - with Panasonic Nano Surface technology, reflection is dramatically reduced across the visible light range (380nm-780nm) by applying an ultra-low refractive index coating with nano particles.
