The U-MITOYA Eyelighter is a curved reflective panel designed to achieve uniform lighting in portrait, beauty or glamour photography, using the light falling on the model from above. The reflector placed on a profiled frame allows for precise control of reflected light, effectively and visually illuminating the lower parts of the face, neck and décolleté of the photographed person, which would be difficult when using a traditional, flat aperture. The large surface of the panel makes it successfully used also when shooting wider frames.

The design of the aperture is based on a fold-out frame that can be mounted on a standard lighting tripod with a 16 mm head. The frame consists of a wide, horizontal tripod holder with the possibility of adjusting the angle of inclination, two profiled arms (each composed of three curved tubes) and two short crossbars finished with butterflies. The reflector itself, in turn, consists of two layers: a black and silver base, stretched over the shoulders of the frame, and an additional, double-sided Velcro mounted coating: white and sunfire. This allows you to easily match the color and character of the light to the beauty of the person being photographed or the artistic concept being implemented. The base shell has tunnels on the longer and shorter sides, through which curved handles must be routed, and the resulting structure must be stiffened using shorter crossbars. The whole thing is mounted on a horizontal tripod holder, stabilized with butterfly screws and ready to be mounted on a lighting tripod. When folded, it can be stored in the included compact case with dimensions of 70 × 15 × 14 cm.

Application

Eyelighter is a product created mainly for portrait photography and fashion sessions. Depending on the settings of the main light source, the aperture will illuminate both the tight frame and most of the adult figure. It can be used with any light source: studio flash, Speedlight, LED constant light lamp, photographic fluorescent lamps or even the light found when taking photos outdoors. Depending on the selected coating, we can get strong, contrasting lighting (silver coating), subdued light (white coating) or contrasting and warm light at the same time (sunfire coating). The black surface, on the other hand, can be used, for example, to cut off unwanted existing light. Compact when folded and easy to transport, the panel will be the perfect complement to our studio.
