Meike extension tube kit for Nikon
The Meike extension tube kit consists of three extension tubes that significantly improve the macro capabilities of your existing lenses without reducing their quality. With the TTL exposure metering system, no exposure compensation is needed.

Ideal for macro photography
This three-piece kit makes the small world big. You place the spacer ring between the lens and the camera. This lets you get closer to the subject and make it larger in the picture. The spacer ring is not a lens system and is therefore hollow. All of your camera's automatic functions are retained. The three separate pieces can be used independently or together. The more rings you use, the closer you can get to your subject.

How does a spacer ring work?
A spacer ring increases the distance between the camera's image sensor and the rear of the camera lens. This shortens the lens's focusing distance, making it possible to focus closer on a subject. As a result, the subject is projected larger onto the sensor than it would be without the spacer ring. The spacer ring therefore increases the lens's magnification factor. This can be calculated using the following formula.

Please note
Please note that when using all 3 stacked spacer rings, there is a light loss of approximately 2 stops!

Maximum magnification with spacer ring = lens magnification factor + (mm spacer ring / focal length)

Suppose you have an 85 mm lens with a magnification factor of 0.13. With the 12 mm ring, the lens magnification becomes as follows.
Maximum magnification with 12 mm ring = 0.13 + (12 / 85) = 0.13 + 0.14 = 0.27

With the 20 mm ring, the lens magnification becomes as follows.
Maximum magnification with 20 mm ring = 0.13 + (20 / 85) = 0.13 + 0.24 = 0.37

With the 36 mm ring, the lens magnification becomes as follows.
Maximum magnification with 36 mm spacer ring = 0.13 + (36 / 85) = 0.13 + 0.42 = 0.55

You can also combine the spacer rings. With all three spacer rings, the lens magnification factor becomes as follows.
Maximum magnification with 68 mm spacer ring = 0.13 + (68 / 85) = 0.13 + 0.80 = 0.93
