The Leofoto LS-225C carbon tripod is part of the Leofoto Ranger tripod series.

The core philosophy of the Leofoto Ranger tripods is maximum stability and low weight. This is achieved without a built-in centre column - on Ranger series tripods it is a separate add-on, included in the set. The load of a Ranger tripod therefore rests on three legs rather than a single centre column, if you want the most stable setup. This design philosophy makes the tripod considerably more compact, because a folded tripod does not need to leave room for a centre column - its legs sit tightly against one another. Add the centre column to gain extra height. You can also attach the GC-282AL cross column / vertical column.

The retractable screw at the top of the tripod lets you convert it in seconds from a 3/8" screw (for tripod heads) to a 1/4" screw (for cameras).

Quick locking thanks to a special leg lock ring - locking needs only a 1/4 turn. Forget the time wasted screwing tripod legs tight. Leofoto tripod legs also have replaceable feet - spiked feet and rubber feet are included, and a wide variety of leg tips are available as additional accessories. Leofoto has also thought about longevity: the leg locking mechanism uses one-piece slide mechanisms (other manufacturers use two-piece ones, which are very often the weak point of a tripod) - these slide mechanisms provide greater durability.

Leofoto photo tripods and video tripods use 10X carbon - 10-layer carbon tubes that give the tripod higher load capacity, torsional rigidity and vibration absorption, and are lighter than comparable metal or wooden parts.

The Leofoto LH-25 ball head is included - a compact, high-performance ball head with a 6kg load capacity that weighs only 178g. The LH-25 mechanism uses a 25mm ball. It is equipped with a spirit level and a quick-release Arca-Swiss type plate, and both where the plate attaches and at the base of the head (for panning) there is a high-precision scale, which lets you lock the camera exactly as you intended and rotate it to exactly the angle your composition requires. The LH-25 head has a separate panorama control and a separate friction control. The friction control lets you set how freely the ball mechanism moves when it is released. This is especially important with heavier cameras and lenses - this system allows more precise control (the camera simply does not drop under its own weight).

The base of the tripod has a 3/8" thread for attaching various accessories (lights, monitors, microphones).
