Leofoto LY-224C Mr.Y series tripods are compact, small tripods ideal for travel and for shooting at events or museums, for example.

They are extra light and very short when folded (only 48cm), which makes them easy to transport. The special highlight is the Y-shaped centre column. It reduces the overall circumference of the folded tripod (about 56mm in diameter), and the tripod can even fit in a briefcase.

Operation is very simple and intuitive - the centre column is held by an ergonomic locking lever. The camera height can be adjusted using the centre column, and the centre column can be flipped upside down for macro or product photography. The tripod leg angles can be set to four positions (23/42/62 and 82 degrees) - the greatest stability is achieved at a 42° angle. For special perspectives the angle can be increased to 82°.

The short centre column lets you view your surroundings from a frog's-eye perspective. A short centre column? Yes! You can replace the long centre column with a much shorter one, which is included. This can be done without any tools. The advantage, in addition to the frog's-eye view mentioned above, is increased stability. The long centre column can also be mounted upside down for unusual shooting situations.

At the end of the centre column there is a hook on which to hang a bag or any other counterweight. The hook can also be turned by 90 degrees so that it becomes a safety lock and the centre column cannot fall out when you use it upside down.

The base of the tripod has two 1/4" sockets for attaching various accessories.

Quick locking thanks to a special leg locking ring - locking requires only a 1/4 turn. Forget the time wasted on repeatedly screwing the tripod legs. Leofoto tripod legs also have interchangeable feet - spiked feet and rubber feet are included, and a wide variety of leg tips are available as additional accessories. Leofoto has also thought about longevity and uses one-piece slide mechanisms in the leg locking mechanism (other manufacturers use two-piece ones, which are very often the weak point of tripods) - these slide mechanisms ensure greater longevity.

Leofoto photo and video tripods use 10X carbon - 10-layer carbon tubes that give the tripod higher load capacity, torsion resistance and vibration absorption, and are lighter than equivalent metal or wooden parts.
