Description
The Leofoto LG-284C+LH-36R is a Gabriel series carbon tripod and ball head kit in black, also intended for work in wet and sandy conditions.
The open Q-shaped apex lets you interchange the platform and centre column. The platform lock releases with half a turn, while the safety lock must be pressed to remove the platform or column. The column can be installed and removed without tools.
Without the centre column, the tripod provides more stable support, while the column makes camera height adjustment easier. Maximum height without the column is 129 cm, or 158 cm with it. Minimum height is 16 cm for work close to the ground.
The leg locks reduce water and sand ingress, helping to cut cleaning time. They limit water entering the tubes but do not prevent it completely. The anti-rotation system helps prevent the sections from twisting even in water.
The leg tubes are made from 10-layer carbon. The tube plugs, rubber foot screws and spikes are made from titanium alloy for resistance to seawater corrosion. The tripod has a 10-year warranty.
The LH-36R ball head has a 36 mm ball, an 18 kg load capacity and a weight of 410 g. The low profile and large main locking knob make adjustment easier. Two drop notches let you move the camera from landscape to portrait orientation, while friction adjustment sets the resistance to movement. The laser-engraved scale on the panning base helps you set the rotation precisely.
The apex has a 1/4" accessory socket and a 3/8" socket with an anti-twist feature. They accept Magic Arm mounts for positioning a phone, tablet or light.
The carrying bag has double YKK zips. The asymmetrically positioned carrying handle balances the kit, whose head end is heavier.
