Caruba EW 83L Black

The Caruba EW 83L is a black lens hood for the Canon EF 24-70mm f/4.0L IS USM lens. It blocks light entering from the side to reduce flare and colour casts in the image.

Light striking the front element at an angle from outside the frame can reflect inside the lens, creating haze or coloured patches. The hood extends in front of the glass to intercept this light, while its matte interior absorbs stray light. Its projecting rim also helps protect the front element against knocks and rain, keeping the first raindrops off the glass.
