Description

The Caruba EW 88D is a black lens hood for the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM lens. It blocks light entering from the side to reduce flare and colour casts.

Light striking the front element at an angle from outside the frame can reflect inside the lens, causing haze or coloured patches in the image. The hood extends ahead of the front element to intercept this light, while its matte interior absorbs stray light. The projecting rim also helps protect the front element against knocks and keeps the first raindrops off the glass.
