Caruba extension tube 25mm, for Sony, chrome

The Caruba 25mm extension tube has a chrome mount and is compatible with Sony A lenses. Fitted between the camera body and lens, it increases the distance between the sensor and the rear optical element, reducing the minimum focusing distance and increasing magnification for macro photography and close-ups.

The tube contains no optical elements and does not alter image quality. Autofocus and TTL light metering remain functional, although manual focusing is recommended because the focusing range is narrow. A longer extension tube allows closer focusing.

Maximum magnification with an extension tube is calculated as the lens magnification factor plus the tube length divided by the lens focal length. For example, an 85mm lens with a magnification factor of 0.13 reaches approximately 0.42 with this 25mm tube: 0.13 + (25 / 85) = 0.13 + 0.29 = 0.42.
