Clear viewing thanks to AR coating

The glass is treated with an AR coating that keeps reflectivity below 1%. This keeps the image in the viewfinder clear and transparent. The glass is made of CSG high alumina glass with a thickness of only 0.33 mm (0.013 inch), so the sensitivity of the viewfinder is not reduced.

9H hardness and multi layer protection

The surface hardness rates 9H, which protects the viewfinder against dirt, scratches, sweat, smears and light impact. The glass consists of multiple layers of protective material that block UV rays and only allow visible light to pass through. The coating also resists dust, water, oil and fingerprints, which keeps cleaning simple.

Installing and removing

The protective glass mounts to the viewfinder via static adhesion and goes on quickly and effortlessly, without trapping air bubbles. Removing it is just as easy and leaves no sticky residue on the viewfinder. The 2.5D round edges prevent edge sharpness during installation.

Compatibility

The ASP EP18 is made for the Sony FDA EP18 eyecup and the JJC ES EP18. These eyecups are used on the Sony a7, a7 II, a7 III, a7R, a7R II, a7R III, a7R IV, a7S, a7S II, a9, a9 II, a58 and a99 II.

Cleaning before installation

The protective glass comes with an installation kit containing a wet cleaning wipe and a microfiber cloth, so the viewfinder window can be cleaned before installation. A suction cup and a triangular removal tool are supplied as well.
