Used to cut reflections from water and window glass. It also reproduces a richer blue of the sky and a bright white of clouds. It maximises lens performance, so the resulting images have more contrast than without the filter.

The thin frame allows use with wide-angle lenses and the wide focal lengths of zoom lenses. The glass surface has a multicoating (MC) treatment.
