The EL flash's centred umbrella mount provides symmetrical, optimal illumination of all Elinchrom umbrellas. Elinchrom Umbrella Deep umbrellas are made with 16 fibreglass rods to achieve a perfectly round shape. The deep design provides precise control of light distribution. These umbrellas can also be converted into "collapsible" softboxes by adding, for example, a translucent cover to a silver umbrella or a silver/black cover to a translucent umbrella. Many other options are possible.

The white umbrella is often chosen for its slightly warmer tones and softer shadow transitions.
